All massages are tailored to your preference and I usually do a combination of the techniques below:

Swedish Massage

A very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. I use an array of strokes such as effleurage, rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

CranioSacral Therapy

A gentle, light-touch, non-invasive technique that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health. This therapy is a very soothing and relaxing healing experience. Craniosacral helps balance the nervous system and the effects can resonate through the body for days.

CranioSacral Therapy addresses:

  • Migraines and Headaches
  • Chronic Pain
  • Autism, ADD/ADHD
  • Stress and Tension-Related Disorders
  • Motor-Coordination Impairments
  • Infant and Childhood Disorders
  • Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, including Scoliosis
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • TMJ Syndrome
  • Central Nervous System Disorders
  • Many Other Conditions

Deep Tissue Massage

A form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deep layers of muscle tissue. Deep tissue massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of this bodywork, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable.

Deep Tissue may include these techniques:

  • Myofascial Release
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Ashiatsu and Thai Massage
  • Heat (to warm the muscles and increase circulation)
  • Analgesics
  • Cupping

Ashiatsu Deep Tissue Massage

Ashiatsu is a form of massage where I use my feet to deliver one of the most incredibly effective and unique deep tissue massages in the world. Ashiatsu compresses, stretches, and releases tension deep in the fascia and muscle tissue. The technique feels amazing and sends you into a relaxed state ideal for healing, it opens up areas of the body that have long been ‘locked’ or out-of-place. Maintaining deep pressure throughout the body can be achieved easily and will be catered to the depth you prefer. Clients leave feeling longer, looser, and more flexible. If you like real deep massage, this is the bee’s knees.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy, also known as needle-less acupuncture. In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, Shiatsu is thought to reduce muscle stiffness, stimulate the skin, aid digestion, and influence the nervous system. Shiatsu is used to treat a wide range of chronic conditions, such as headaches, PMS, digestive disorders, fatigue, insomnia, fibromyalgia, stress, anxiety, and low back, neck, and joint pain.

Papahana Lomi Lomi

A unique healing massage derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii.

Lomi Lomi has an important spiritual component, and I begin the session by saying a traditional Hawaiian prayer to create harmony, set intentions, and elevate the space. The massage is given in fluid, rhythmic motion using the forearms and hands. It works gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes - like ocean waves, totally nurturing the body and enabling the recipient to relax and give in.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is more energizing than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called lazy-man's yoga, because I may use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. You remain fully dressed during the session and massage is given on a floor mat. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively.

Healing Touch (Energy Therapy)

Healing Touch is compassionate energy therapy. Gentle, light or near-body touch is used in a heart-centered and intentional way to clear, balance, energize and support the human energy system. Energy therapies focus on removing energy congestion that forms in our energy fields (aura) and energy centers (chakras). Healing Touch facilitates a deep sense of calm and relaxation, you may feel nurtured, calm, and energized.

Research suggests that Healing Touch greatly benefits those who receive it:

  • Reduces pain
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Relieves stress and depression, reduces the effects of trauma
  • Provides support during chemotherapy and enhances recovery from surgery
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Creates a sense of well-being
  • Deepens spiritual connection
  • Supports the dying process

Pregnancy Massage

Massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. All stages of pregnancy are accommodated, 2nd and 3rd trimester women are given face-up and side-lying massage for comfort.

Cupping

Cupping is a great addition to any massage. Cupping enhances circulation, helps relieve pain, removes "heat" and pulls out stagnant toxins or energy that linger in your body's tissues and meridians. 5-20 minutes is needed per area and the intensity can be adjusted to your comfort. I often combine cupping with massage into one treatment, but it may also be used alone. Please mention you would like cupping if you want this to be included in your treatment.
